Evora Jewelry with Phoenix Blogger Babes

This past weekend, I had the beautiful pleasure of partnering our Phoenix Blogger Babes with Evora Jewelry, a custom jewelry making experience. They are a small business in the heart of Old Town Gilbert, a friendly and lively scene. Their studio is quaint, modern and open. It is a home remodeled into a studio, giving it a homey and inviting energy.

Evora’s goal business model is quite simple.

“…TO INSPIRE HUMAN CREATIVITY AND INDIVIDUALITY. ORIGINALITY AND CREATIVITY ARE WHAT CULTIVATE INNER CONFIDENCE AND FULFILLMENT. WE CREATED AN EXPERIENCE WHERE YOU ARE THE DESIGNER AND CREATOR OF YOUR OWN PIECE OF JEWELRY FROM START TO FINISH, IN HOPES OF IGNITING A MOVEMENT OF ART AND SELF-EXPRESSION.”

You begin your creative process by selecting your stone – which are organized by color, in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Each stone is unique in its design, its so hard to make a decision. They are all just so dang pretty! We were fortunate to have the owner himself in the studio, walking us through the process step-by-step. One you pick your stone, you take your seat in the studio. It is so extraordinary to just see a gem in front of you and knowing that you are going to turn it into to a work of art.

decisions, decisions

You pick out each part of your ring, one piece at a time. On a clipboard, they have all the style options for your band and setting. From the band, bevel and detail, you can design an extremely diverse range of styles. All of which are laid out carefully on a clipboard, and the studio employee will explain what each portion of the ring is for. Me personally, I wanted a pretty simple band and bevel, I truly wanted my colorful turquoise blend stone to pop. I chose band #1, a thin, simple sterling silver. The next step is selecting the “bevel” – which is the part of the ring that surrounds your stone. I opted for a sterling silver scalloped edge, and finishing with a sterling silver thin “rope” design as the base of my ring. Now its time to size your ring! They recommend measuring one size bigger than your usual size. I wanted a ring for my index finger – which is usually a size 6, so I measured up to a size 7.

In case we weren’t already having fun, now its time to break out the tools. ITS HAMMER TIME BABY! This is one of the most important parts of the process, you need to carefully hammer out the base plate of your ring into a thin sheet metal. Its an ideal time to take out some pent up aggression, lol. This is the setting for your ring, on which everything will be built upon. From here, you will piece together your creation. Hammers, blowtorches, cutting metal, painting with “flux” – which is essentially glue. But really, you get to use all the fun stuff. It is such a gratifying experience to see it all come together, from start to finish.

It all comes together one little piece at a time. The finished product leaves you with such a feeling of accomplishment for what you just created. From start to finish, this is a truly unique, one of a kind experience that truly anyone would enjoy. Be sure to check them out for you next “girls night out”, bachelorette party, date night (Yes – the men will have fun too).
